Gatlinburg Weekend - Reviews

Over the spring, we went to Gatlinburg for a long weekend.  We made the mistake of not checking the calendar and visited at the same time as one of the large church groups.  The town was busy.  However, we still had a good time.

We stayed at the Clarion hotel on the edge of town.  The rooms were a bit small for a family, but we made it work.  There was no fan in the bathroom which was interesting. (Read more about a great product I found for this problem).  Also, the indoor swimming pool was in a separate building which required a walk outside...kinda cold in February.

The Village Shops were very popular with everyone.  We spent a lot of time looking around in this area.  One of the shops - the Donut Friar was sooo popular; we visited twice.

Traffic was really bad that weekend so we didn't drive; the trolley's couldn't even get through town either so we walked - a lot.

To get away from some of the crowds, we played mini gold at Ripley's Davy Crockett.

The next day we visited the aquarium which was the highlight of the trip.  Touching the manta rays was fun but the shark tunnel was really great.

This was a fun weekend, but make sure not to go when there is a large convention :)
