Colorado Vacation - Part 2

After leaving Estes Park, we headed to the vacation house near Colorado Springs.  The house is just outside the town of Woodland Park.  There are so many fun things to do around Colorado Springs, it could take several posts.

Mr. Roberts spent almost every morning fly fishing at various spots around the area.   We spend one afternoon running around Denver and visiting the new Ikea store. I could have bought so much stuff if I had a way to get it all home :)  My daughter planned this visit so she could go to the American Girl store located there.  She has read almost all of the books and loved seeing all the dolls set up in various settings and outfits.

One day we went to the small ghost town of St. Elmo.  It is the location of an old gold mining town.  There are campgrounds and hot springs located near by as well as plenty of activities for outdoor enthusiasts include fly fishing, biking, hiking and more.   On the way home, we stopped in nearby Buena Vista CO for supper.  We visited K's Dairy Delite, a great little diner with burgers, ice cream and a shrimp basket with butterfly shrimp.  Adding the fun, every order is assigned a celebrity name.  The kids liked listening as they called orders for Anthony Hopins, Kate Hudson, Bon Jovi and so many more.
